FSU needs Moult to find stroke vs. La. Tech

Fresno State is taking on rival Louisiana Tech Saturday in women's basketball and it would be a good time for junior forward Rosie Moult to snap out of a shooting slump.

Moult's aim (photo, right) hasn't been up to par the past six games. She's shooting 31% from the field and the team's best 3-point shooter is just 24% from beyond the arc. The slide's been going on the whole Western Athletic Conference season, although the first-place Bulldogs are 6-0 in those games.

Moult is 6-foot-1 with a quick trigger who gets off her shots in the blink of an eye. She missed the 2-point loss at UNLV with a slight concussion, then in her return nailed 9 of 12 3-pointers for 27 points against Seattle in the final tune-up for the WAC season.

Bulldogs coach Adrian Wiggins says Moult, who has a team-high 56 3-pointers, simply is rushing her shots a bit. But, from what I've seen, she's always rushed her shots. It's evident her aim is off because her shots are drifting left and right. Maybe she needs glasses? Who knows.

Moult, though, hasn't let it get her down. She's continued to do the little things to help the team. She's averaging 5.0 rebounds the past six games and has 16 steals and 15 assists.

Fresno State is beating WAC teams by an average of 25 points, so it will be interesting to see what they put up against a La. Tech team that already has lost twice in conference.
