A note about that 'Dogs defense ...

Fresno State is only 1-2 in its past three games, losing at Louisiana Tech 59-58 and at New Mexico State 60-56 and beating Idaho 65-55 on Thursday at the Save Mart Center.

But the Bulldogs held all three to 60 points or less, and that is not something they have done in a long time. The last time Fresno State held three consecutive opponents to 60 points or less was in 2009 in December games against UC Davis, North Dakota State and at Montana.

The competition this time was a tad more challenging.

New Mexico State is leading the Western Athletic Conference in scoring at 77.3 points per game. Louisiana Tech is averaging 68.5 points per game and has been better during conference play, averaging 70.4. And Idaho is averaging 69.7 points per game.
