Tulare Union junior Keonta Vernon was among the 6,110 at the Save Mart Center on Saturday to watch Fresno State in its 65-46 loss to Cal Poly.
Vernon, a versatile 6-foot-6 wing, has been taking unofficial visits to schools in California. He has been to Cal, San Francisco, St. Mary's, Cal Poly and now Fresno State. He also is receiving recruiting attention from North Carolina State, Boise State and Santa Clara, Coach Mark Hatton said.
Vernon has been playing at the four and five this season. But, Hatton said, he likely will play point guard next season for Tulare Union, which will lose six seniors.
In college, Vernon projects as a shooting guard or a small forward.
