One new Dog, one old Dog

A couple of stories were sent my way this morning about players with Fresno State connections. One mentions Kevin Foster, a George Mason transfer at the College of Central Florida who will join the Bulldogs next season. Foster was named the Mid-Florida Conference Player of the Year this week. He's averaging 16.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per game this season with the state tournament around the corner.

Also, here's a story about Brandon Sperling, the former Bulldogs point guard who transferred to Humboldt State last summer. The 25-game starter is averaging 12.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists this year with the Jacks and scored a season-high 23 points last night as they grabbed the California Collegiate Athletic Association title with a win over Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Fresno State hosts Boise State tonight at 8 p.m. (if the women's game ends on time).
