That was great ... but ...

Fresno State played a great game in knocking out Seattle 86-56 Monday night in Fresno, but one thing sticks out about the win: transition offense.

The Bulldogs forced 14 turnovers and ran well the other way off turnovers and on misses and makes. The defense and transition baskets created awesome energy.

For the Bulldogs, it was great to see because PG Steve Shepp, and the team as a whole, operate best when running. But most WAC teams know that and take steps to stop it. SO, the Bulldogs still need to improve in their halfcourt sets.

They emerged from a 35.7% shooting funk in their last four games (all losses) to shoot a season-high 57.7% and score a season high in points. Fresno State played pretty stifling defense at times -- all encouraging. But this team will really make the next step when it gets its halfcourt sets together.
