Lawsuit could hit NCAA's pocketbook hard

Former UCLA basketball player Ed O'Bannon's class-action lawsuit could lead to former student-athletes getting a cut of the multi-billion dollar college sports revenue pool and dramatically impact the way college athletics operates, says a report by Yahoo! sports.

U.S. District Court Judge Claudia Wilken denied the NCAA's request Monday to dismiss the 2009 class-action lawsuit over the use of former players' likenesses in everything from video games to memorabilia to television rebroadcasts.

This thing is far from over, but it's about time the NCAA had to share with the guys who actually make the memories the NCAA profits from.
