The neighboring communities of Strathmore and Lindsay are running a food drive contest this week in advance of Friday night's 17th annual Bell Game between the East Sequoia League football rivals.

Fans are being asked to bring non-perishable food items to the game, where collection bins will be set for each school. Items will be counted after the game and the winner announced the following week.

Tickets to the game -- at $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for students K-8 -- are on sale all week at the front offices at both schools. Kickoff is set for approximately 7:30 p.m. at Lindsay High.
