Hawaii quarterback Greg Alexander has a knee injury and likely will miss next Saturday's game against Fresno State, according to the Honolulu Advertiser.
Alexander was sacked five times in Wednesday's loss at Louisiana Tech and was knocked from the game late in the third quarter. Warriors coach Greg McMackin says the QB has an MCL injury to his left knee.
And who would be the Hawaii backup?
More than likely it will be someone Fresno fans already know (or at least remember, as one of the two is a former FCC Ram shown at right).
The first option is likely Bryant Moniz (pictured) -- he was the starting quarterback at Fresno City College in 2007, passing for 1,944 yards and 13 touchdowns in leading the Rams to a 7-4 season.
Moniz replaced Anderson on Wednesday night in Ruston and was 5 of 11 for 109 yards in little more than a quarter of action.
The other Warriors QB is Inoke Funaki. He was the starter last year who led Hawaii to a 32-29 overtime victory against then-No. 22 Fresno State at Bulldog Stadium in early October. The loss dropped the Bulldogs from the rankings for the rest of the season.
Funaki, however, has not taken a snap since the Hawaii Bowl. He told the Advertiser on Thursday that he has not been approached about playing next week.
