Fresno State defeated San Jose State 42-21 tonight at Bulldog Stadium behind Ryan Mathews' 233 rushing yards.

The Bulldogs, with back-to-back conference wins, are now 3-3 this season, 2-1 in the Western Athletic Conference.

Mathews leads the nation with 974 yards.

Next week, Fresno State visits New Mexico State in the third of seven straight WAC games over seven weeks.
