Buchanan still worthy of No. 1?

Football polls tend to be shaped by traditional voters, of which I'm not.

For example: I promoted Memrial four spots to No. 7 this week after they lost 28-21 to No. 1 Buchanan in a game that finished with the Panthers on the Bears' 1-yard line. Among the teams Memorial leapfrogged is Bakersfield, which lost to Buchanan 56-41 while giving up 766 yards.

Also, I was uncomfortable keeping Buchanan atop the leader board. Defenses from Edison and Memorial have given the Bears problems the past two weeks. The only other consideration for No. 1 was Bullard, which has hardly shown a weakness. And so the question: Would the Knights only beat Memorial by 7? Hmmm.
