Hot and 'Dogs trailing (but White Shirts winning)

6:20 p.m. -- I think I've finally cooled off from the hike up here, been here over an hour. Broncos haven't been here that long but already lead by two possessions, 10-0. Crowd is filling in and the west side of the stadium is pretty much dominated by white. You know, even the red seats on the west side are turning white. I think it's more 95%-5% in favor of the whites now.

6:05 p.m. -- Well, Dogs QB Colburn completes his first pass on third down -- right into double coverage and Boise State intercepts and takes it to the north end zone. Boise State crowd is chanting. Fresno State crowd -- now about 60% full -- is stunned and quiet. 7-0 Broncos and we've played 1:55.

5:40 p.m. -- 20 minutes to kickoff and the score is White Shirts 90%, Red Shirts 10%, but we've got lots of ballots to count yet. The seats are only about 15% full.

5:15 p.m. -- It's about 100 degrees, the AP's Josh Dubow is reporting a few feet away from me here in the press box at Bulldog Stadium. Both teams are on the field warming up. Bee photographer Craig Kohlruss said the temperature reminds him of last year's UCLA game at the Rose Bowl. The Bulldogs won that one ...
