Trailing all game, Fresno State put itself in position to catch No. 14 Cincinnati, but came up short in a 28-20 loss.
The Bulldogs drove in the final minute to the Bearcats 32-yard-line but on 4th-and-2 took a delay of game penalty coming out of a timeout. On 4th-and-7, Ryan Colburn hit Chastin West with a high pass, but Cincinnati knocked the ball loose as he came down to clinch it.
The Bulldogs were limited to three second-half points, one drive stopped on a 4th-down interception by Colburn at the Cincinnati goal line to open the fourth quarter. The Bearcats turned the turnover into a touchdown to build a 28-17 lead.
Fresno State falls to 1-3 going into a bye week. The Bulldogs next play at Hawaii on Oct. 10.

One thing is very evident.....FIRE PAT HILL!!!! This guy is 1-8 against Boise State. Come on.....1-8?!?!? And now 1-3 on the season. Play anyone, anywhere, anytime is great, but how about winning our own conference. MIchigan fired its coach when they couldn't beat Ohio State. UCLA fired its coach when h...e couldn't beat USC. Boise is our biggest conference rival and it's obvious Pat Hill's teams don't play defense.
Wake up Fresno fans. It's time to turn the page. FIRE PAT HILL NOW!!
