Yosemite poachers busted

Few news items warm my heart like a poaching bust. Poachers not only destroy wildlife, they also give law-abiding hunters a bad name.

Thanks to an anonymous tip, three Southern California men are facing federal charges for poaching within the boundaries of Yosemite National Park. According to wire reports, the crimes took place near Summit Lake on the park's eastern edge.

The three men arrested and charged are 37-year-old Chad Gierlich of Riverside, 35-year-old Chris Gierlich of Chino Hills, and 35-year-old Kyle Narasky of Apple Valley. Law enforcement officials said the trio illegally hunted and killed at least six trophy-size bucks inside the park over the last several years.

After obtaining search warrants, officers said they seized bows and arrows, GPS devices and mounted kills from the suspects' homes.
