Clovis' Jenna Prandini did exactly what she wanted to do during her first competition of the day at the CIF State Championships.
The sophomore posted a personal best and school record mark of 39-07.25 on her first attempt of the triple jump.
The mark was good enough to place among the top nine and move on to Saturday's finals, allowing her to conserve energy for her other two events tonight: the long jump and the 100.
"That's what I was trying to do," said Prandini, who was a state championships participant a year ago as a freshman.
