Good-bye Kelsi Bond

Fresno State assistant basketball coach Kelsi Bond, who has been with the women's program five seasons, is leaving to become the head coach at Southwestern Oklahoma State.

This was Bond's first season as Bulldogs assistant coach. She had previously been director of basketball operations. She's returning to her home state, where she starred and coached at Canton High and was a four-year starter at Cameron University.

My best guess is that Bulldogs coach Adrian Wiggins will promote current basketball operations director Amy Parrish to the assistant's job. Parrish, a former Bulldogs star, spent one season at Cal State-Bakersfield as an assistant before joining Fresno State's staff this season.

Bond is moving to a program that has won five NAIA championships. "All the necessary tools are here for us to be successful, and I fully expect to be," said Bond, a first-year Bulldogs assistant who was promoted from director of basketball operations.

Fresno State coach Adrian Wiggins said the assistant's job will be posted soon for the selection process.
"It's a recruiting position and this assistant will spend the majority of time doing that," he said.
