Adios to one of the good ones

Tomorrow The Bee sports staff will say good-bye to fellow reports Ken Robison, Margarat Slaby and desk people Manuel Jovel and Delton Lowery. Some took buy outs and one was laid off. It's sad and the residue of this bad economy. These are all people who cared about the product and worked hard to give you the news in an entertaining way.

I'll especially miss Ken and not just because I'll probably handed a lot of his beats. For those of you who know this likeable guy, Ken is the most enthusiast reporter I've ever met. It doesn't matter what sport he's covering, it's the greatest event on the planet and he always came back to the office to share his experience and retell what happened in a delightful way. There are people who enjoy life to the fullest, and that's Ken. He sees good in everything and his light, compact, to the point and witty writing style will be missed.

Ken's last day is Friday, so if you want to wish him well in retirement (he'll be calling us with the latest golf and tennis news for sure) drop him an e-mail. It will get to him. He'll talk your ear off, but you'll enjoy every minute of it.
