Hill to Iowa State? Fuhgetaboutit!!
Well, that's what he's saying at least.
Fresno State coach Pat Hill said Thursday that he's not a candidate for the Iowa State job or any other coaching vacancy. He's not flattered by it either.
Hill, whose name appeared on Internet message boards recently suggesting that he might be a candidate for the head job at the Big XII's Iowa State, said the rumors are untrue.
"I'm not involved in any other jobs or job searches," he said before practice. "It's frustrating because my name's in a lot of things, but those are in blogs and a lot of other stuff.
"No, I'm not flattered at all. I just wanna coach this game."
The official word from Tom Kroeschell, Iowa State associate athletic director and athletics communications director, is that the Cyclones will not comment on the job search until it is complete.
SO ... that handles that right?
Well, Hill did say he wasn't interested in the Washington job after the Boise State game and the next morning was on a flight to Seattle. Rumors of his candidacy for that job were really leaks from the Huskies athletic department, though. These just seem to be regular ole rumors.
Come on - Leave Coach Hill alone - let him do what he needs to do and that is coach Fresno State football. He has taken a program in which no one talked about to a Nationally talked about program. He has raised the standard for student athletes - that is what a coach is hired to do. Yes, winning the conference would be a plus - there are so many things going on behind the scenes that no one is privy to - just lay off - he is the professional, all of you are the arm chairs coaches. Why is he never good enough, no matter if he wins or looses...
Leave Hill alone? What has he done besides getting us on national t.v.? To all Pat Hill lovers, don't worry. He's not going anywhere. Not because he doesn't want to. Nobody wants him. Don't be fooled by all the talk of teams looking at Hill to fill a vacancy. Look at all of the head coaching positions that have been filled lately. If Hill is as good as all his supporters say he is, he would be at Wash State, Iowa State, Tennessee, of Auburn. Think about it Tennessee took Lane Kiffin, an unproven failed NFL coach over Pat Hill. He needs to go. It's time for a change.
I really do like Coach Hill and what he has been doing with the bulldog program. But even though he has gotten Fresno State national notorioty, he needs to lighten up. The players can't take the constant beatings of the Bad Boys. They wear out and get hurt. Just look at Ryan Mathews and Marlin Moore, Monga too. Lighten up!
