Hey, the Central Section is just like college football now -- they're playing on Wednesday night!
Kingsburg has bolted to a 13-0 26-0 halftime lead over Taft. QB Tyler Bray is the hero with a 6-yard TD pass to Caleb Fink, a 10-yard TD run, a 24-yard TD pass to Jason Linman and an 11-yard TD pass to Linman with 6.3 seconds left in the half.
They're playing in a steady rain, but the refurbished Kingsburg stadium looks great.
Kingsburg and Taft took advantage of first-round byes in Division IV to schedule the Wednesday game. The winner gets a little more rest before the semifinal next Friday night; the loser gets to salve the pain with a turkey leg.

Spotted in the crowd: Ryan Phelan, coach of the top-seeded Central Valley Christian Cavaliers. His team hosts Arvin on Friday; get past the Bears, and CVC gets a semifinal date with the Taft-Kingsburg winner.
... Which will be Kingsburg after the Vikings finished off a 39-0 rout. Bray added another TD on a 40-yard pass to Johnathan Alcala, and London Lacy came on to throw a final TD pass. Oh, and the Vikings held on to the shutout when Taft fumbled at the Kingsburg 1. Ouch.
