Danny Muno drove in two runs with triple then scored when Erik Wetzel's liner richoted off the glove of shortstop Gordon Beckham that put Fresno State ahead 9-6.
Then with the bases loaded and two outs, catcher Ryan Overland hit a soft single between left fielder Lyle Allen and shortstop Gordon Beckham that scored two runs and put Fresno State ahead 11-6.
Fresno State has now scored six runs in the third and five runs in the fourth. Anyone care to bet if the Bulldogs can score four runs the next inning?
FYI . . . Tommy Mendonca tied a College World Series record by hitting his fourth homer of the CWS, tied with seven others.
Also, Overland was removed from the game in the bottom of the fourth his fourth-inning hit, replaced by Danny Grubb (though Blake Amador pinch ran for Overland).
