After two tough losses against ranked teams, the 'Dogs have a bye then begin WAC play. How do you expect Fresno State to fare in the conference?

I'm an Oregon Duck. I must say that we at UO have come to respect Fresno State's football program over the years. You guys are young, have a great coach, and you'll certainly bounce back. Many of us are saddened (yet somewhat relieved) to see the series come to an end.

You have a great program - be proud of it.

Regards.

Fresno State will be lucky to finish in 3rd place in the WAC behind Hawaii and Boise State. They need to quit scheduling the big schools and start working on there own conference. When was the last time Fresno State won the WAC? Pat Hill hasn't won it yet, to me and allot of other people the conference championship is allot more than playing these big schools and getting embarrassed. I know they played Texas A&M tough, but they had no passing game and Fresno was able to just look at the run, but they still weren't able to stop them. Fresno try winning the conference and going to the WAC championship bowl game.

Chris the WAC doesn't mean anything. Look at Boise they win the Championship year after year and the only way they get respect is by beating Oklahoma last year. Nobody outside the conference respects the WAC, thats why most of the teams want out of the WAC in the first place. I say keep the big games on the schedule. We may not win them all but at least we can say we tried. If we can get these big schools to do a home and home thats what draws the fans. I'd much rather go watch the Bulldogs play Wisconsin then Sac State. As for the Wac this year I think its going to be between Fresno and Hawaii.

Cody, no one cares if Fresno State beats BCS schools in the regular season, because we always manage to get beat by some team in the WAC who is inferior to us. So, if you want to get inot a BCS bowl game, you need to win the WAC, like Boise does year in and year out. That's why they are becoming a household name, and we are fading fast. To say winning the WAC championship is not important is downright naive.

Winning the WAC doesn’t mean squat. Boise State has consistently won the WAC and only recently have they begun to enjoy the attention and national exposure that Fresno State has always had. It took an undefeated season AND a BCS Bowl to garnish the same National Recognition that Fresno State has had for almost a decade. Winning the WAC is nice, but it’s not what made Boise State a household name. Boise State lucked out out in 06’. The stars were aligned as they went undefeated, Oregon State beat USC, finished the season strong, and there was an addition of the new BCS Bowl. Don’t look for something like this to happen again. If it were not for Oregon State miraculously beating USC, going to a bowl, and the BCS adding a new Bowl, then Boise State would have not gotten the bid. And FYI, our schedule is what makes who we are. Fresno State has come a long way. Believe me, I know. I've never in my life imagined that FS would be as popular as they are today. And I think that's a direct link to our scheduling philosophy.

Derek you're naive if you think we get into the BCS by winning the WAC and having a soft schedule. Boise did it because they started the season high in the rankings. Hawaii will be lucky if they do it this year because they don't play anybody outside of the conference. If I had to vote I'd vote against Hawaii untill they can prove themselves outside of the conference agaisnt a quality team. Yes we need to win the WAC but we also need the tough games outside of conference to have a chance at the BCS. Everybody loved Fresno after the A&M game which was winnable, but then look what happens. We run into a buzzsaw named Oregon and everybody is ready to jump ship. Pat Hill has said time after time that he's tried to schedule UNLV, New Mexico, San Diego State, only to be turned down. We play who we play because thats the only teams besides the Sac State type teams that will play us. Playing these top schools is alot of the reason why we get the recruits that we do. Now lets get this back on topic.
The Wac finishes
1. Hawaii
2. Fresno State
3. Bosie State

You Boise lovers?
Have you ever seen a person outside of Idaho wear anything with a Boise State logo.

We get props even when we lose. Not this last week of course, but the sports world knows about FSU.
When OREGON beats USC then you guys will understand. The DUCKS were darn good and we played really bad.

My favorite thing to do is wear the Bulldog gear on vacation. Somebody always wants to talk sports with me it is great...

Boise didn't even start out in the TOP 25 last year ... You say we have all this respect, but that's just in your head. If we had this respect, we'd be getting more 3,4 and 5 star recruits, but we're not. Boise State has been on ESPN just as much as we have and leading up to this season, one of the teams they couldn't stop talking about was Boise State. That's never happened to us. So if you guys are content with 8-4, 7-5 seasons and not gaining national attention, fine. Let's just have our program fade into oblivion while Boise gets all the attention.

Derek,
The Boise Train just left.

I would love to see Fresno step it up...I would love to see them play error free football...and I would love to help the The USC cheer-squad put on thier sweaters. But let's face it we need cash, recruits, facilities...then we have to battle the perceptions of better educations at CAL, UCLA, STANFORD, OREGON, ARIZONA and the like...

I just wanna BBQ, drink some beers with friends and fellow alumni and have a chance to win...I think we have a chance to win everytime the boys suit up.

Derek,

No one in the WAC gets 3, 4, or 5 star recruits. I'm not sure if ANY non-BCS school does, not even your beloved Boise State. And I hate using the word "respect" but if any mid-major has this it's Fresno State. Both Texas A&M and Oregon got much love from voters after their wins over Fresno State. We're a solid program that still puts fear into BCS programs. Also, Boise State came off of one of their greatest seasons EVER, yet BARELY out-recruited us. What does this tell you? That despite our losing season, we're still one of the top non-BCS schools in the country.

Its time for the Dogs to realize that dumb playing cost games. Going for that extra yard or touchdown and not holding the ball is not worth it. The defense must become the MAD DOGS. Put the bite on early, let them know the Dogs have been let out.
