Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan made a visit to the Valley Sunday, pushing for an end to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. About 300 local peace activists braved the cool weather, sporadic rain and gusty winds to hear her speak at the 8th Annual Rally in the Valley for Peace and Freedom. Sheehan, whose son was killed in the Iraq War, gained fame by camping out in front of then-president George W. Bush's Crawford, Texas ranch to ask for what cause her son died. Sheehan also ran for U.S. Congress but lost out to incumbent Nancy Pelosi. Cindy Sheehan continues to spread the word for peace through her blog.
