Florez raises $1.25 million for Lt. Gov. race

Sen. Dean Florez, D-Shafter, has turned in an impressive fundraising report for next year's race for the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor. At the June 30 reporting deadline, the Shafter lawmaker had raised $1.25 million. Not bad for an election that's a year away.

Florez's campaign said the last-minute boost in contributions was fueled by a "still-growing small contributor base that stormed the Internet in the last few hours before the June 30 reporting deadline with $30 dollar donations."

Florez, the Senate majority leader, had nearly $900,000 on-hand at the end of the reporting period, according to a Florez campaign statement.

Heaven help us. He is one of the many do nothings in office now.

Florez has shown through his actions his interests are what come first. I would love to see him defeated and as a side benefit he would not be as of much use to try and help his mother again to defeat Gilmore down south.

We do not need his self serving attitude and free spending ways in Sacramento.

I'd be more likely to pay him not to run. I'd bet my cow's tail that if he even gets close to winning, our state can not even fathom the magnitude of the resultant disaster.

We need him as Lieutenant Governor like we need Barack Obama as President.

1.25 Million so far for a job that means nothing.
I wonder why now? what if we have no state I don't see California lasting until the next election. 1.25 Million for a worthless job .No wonder we are in the trouble we are. Since the legislation does nothing he should DONATE that money to the Sick and disabled so they don't lose needed services. Shame on all the legislators Shame.Shame on the voters for giving without demanding service in the job he has.We get what we buy 1.25 million worth of nothing but his bank account got bigger so he can afford more lies.
