10 things that voters hate about California politicians

Check out today's column on reasons I believe voters are upset with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and the California Legislature. You can read the complete column by clicking here.

Here's reason No. 1:

-- They rely on experts who can't get their numbers straight. Revenue forecasts are so far off, you'd think budget analysts drank tequila all night, spun themselves in a circle and then threw numbers up on the wall. The governor screams, "Fantastic" and they print 10,000 copies of a make-believe budget

I choose not to sign on to the "hate" thing; and I didn't think that the ten reasons describe any problem as much as they provide a contrived venue for outing politicians on issues that are more important to editors than readers.

Noticeably absent were the terms water,over-regulation and smelt.

Bart, You don't think people care that poiticians spend more revenue than they take in?

I believe that if we fundamentally challenge irrational thinking in state government that life for reasonable Californians will improve. No on propositions 1A-1F.

I've never read a better description of liberalism!

There are so many more than 10. 1st being they have no clue what they are doing and for whom they are supposed to represent. They think it is for them.

One problem I have with government is that politicians spend more than we pay in taxes, and usually on the wrong programs anyway. Your problem is that my view emphasizes whom the money to run government comes from, that important meaning is lost when when citizens get in the habit of using the term revenue. Don't kid yourself, you are not at that level in the game.

Mr. Morgan do you never grow tired of finger pointing?

Gal 4:16 "And now have I suddenly become your enemy simply by telling you the truth?"

Prov 8:9 "You'll recognize this as true--you with open minds; truth-ready minds will see it at once."

Psalm 15:2 "Walk straight, act right, tell the truth." (The Message)

When you point a finger you have three pointing back.

And this usewful quote:

"If residents of the other 49 states haven't focused on California's plight yet, they should. In a real sense, California has become liberalism's 'canary in the coal mine.' It is an instructive - and frightening - warning of the toll exacted by the kind of leftism now in vogue in Washington, D.C."

"Put simply, California is in desperate fiscal straits because it has become a place where government works for only two constituencies: Those who need public assistance, and unions. Sacramento is so busy responding to the needs of the one and the demands of the other that the legitimate expectations of regular, taxpaying citizens have been completely ignored."

"....liberalism's golden promise of an efficient government that does everything for everyone is nothing but a pipe dream - and an expensive, destructive one at that."

"If Americans are smart, they'll learn from California's example. There's something eerily familiar about President Obama's close embrace of government employees and unions - along with his historically budget-busting 'investments' in all manner of services - coupled with his call for higher taxes."

"In California, we've seen it all before. And believe me, it isn't pretty."
