Radanovich tells Al Gore environmentalism is ruining America

Rep. George Radanovich's office just sent out this YouTube video of the Mariposa Republican lecturing former Vice President Al Gore on the politics of the environmental movement. This clip from the congressman does not show a response from Gore, if the ex-veep made one.

Radanovich's office headlines the YouTube video, "Radanovich to Al Gore: You're Going to Bankrupt this Country with Cap and Trade." This is a very good move on the congressman's part -- at least politically. You can't go wrong in the 19th Congressional District beating up on Al Gore and environmentalists.

That's great but we are still without water today.

And polar ice sheets the size of New Jersey and Glacier Bay are still melting. And wineries are not exactly known to be water conserving. And if the people of the 19th Congressional District want Radanowitch...they get what they deserve.

Well lookie what the Ginrich revolution dragged in,...how'd that "contract with America" work out for us?

I believe that Congressman Radanovich has made some allies in his support for the San Joaquin River Restoration that may be haunting him. Turning valves on in the delta will be helpful, but a "comprehensive plan" will have to include another giant oversized monstrosity of a water retaing dam somewhere on the SJR watershed. Liberty, water availability, agriculture, lead bullets, salmon, green lawns, smelt...in that order.

I'm disappointed. A person in his position should have used his words better. It is clear he didn't look at the long term picture of the delta issue. He could have acknowledge the variety of issues that have caused the problem but he chose the smelt only. He inferred environmental extremism was the reason for the problem. A majority of people in this country want to have clean water and clean air. Want to enjoy the variety of plant and animal life. See nature at it's best and make sure there is some left for our children to see and reap from. They understand the fact that we are part of an ecosystem and our survival depends on the survival of the ecosystem. People who are not extremists. Extremists are a minority. They exist because all the environmental laws we pass get ignored. Governments and people work around them. I've watched it first hand for over ten years. No amount of hard work changes things. Extremists are the only reason we still have centuries old redwood trees a sustainable salmon population, forests for recreation that supports the game we hunt, etc. I believe in a balance. Environmental laws themselves exist to promote a balance between "progress" and stewardship. They were not designed to stop projects, just conduct them responsibly. Problem is people like Radanovich don't understand that. We are suffering from our ignorance and ambivalence to budget issues we might as well do the same with the environment. Go ahead, destroy the largest source of our drinking water. Apparently humans must learn the hard way. So much for the critical thinking that supposedly sets us apart from the other animals on this earth.

Does it sound like I'm talking down to some of you? Good. Because I am.

The biggist threat to the enviroment dosnt come from SUVs,JET AIRLINERS or FACTORIES or even BACKYAD BBQs It come from a bunch of eco fanatics and their radical plans to control our lives

Stymphalian Bird (the first F-111 of western civilization)...welcome.

Stymphalian Bird: Stymphalian is spelled correctly. Remainder of text will not pass remedial English 1. Apropos in respect of intended insult? No. Annoying like those mythical birds? Yes.

The scientific elite of Columbus' time disregarded the Bible and told us the world was flat. Today's group is invested in evolution and global warming telling us we came from muck and we're melting,melting...what a cruel world.

Another attempt to intimidate a visitor in typical unwelcoming Bee blogger style. I happen to agree with him, and he is correct on all points. In most sites a moderator welcomes a visitor and encourages them to return.

Strong statement. Please illucidate me on who these eco fanatics are and how they are destroying the environment. The environmental laws on the books were voted in by the majority. The remainder of special regulations for air and water are put in place by our legislators that the majority elect.

"Recent scholarship finds that since about the 3rd century BC, virtually no educated person in Western civilization has believed in a flat Earth." (Wikipedia the free encyclopedia.)

Columbus 1451-1506 15th century AD. So I doubt that Columbus thought that his ship would fall off the edge of the earth. Not even Radanovich would attempt to change the timetables of history by many centuries just to make a point.

Welcome Stymph, I too am curious who these "eco-fanatics" are and how they are trying to control our lives through destroying the environment. Maybe since Bart agrees he can tell us as well.

Oh, and by the way, did either of you try and control the lives of others when you voted on Prop. 8?

The scientific elite of Columbus' time disregarded the Bible and told us the world was flat.

That's one of the sillier statements I've seen from you, Brian. It was the Church, not the "scientific elites" who insisted the earth was flat, and that the sun revolved around the earth (remember the bit of trouble Galileo had a bit later when he held otherwise?). And the Bible nowhere says the earth is a sphere. In fact, a literal reading of the scriptures would support a "flat earth" view.

I did not know that the Bible contained any reference to the configuration of the earth. Not that I cared. I was too busy looking for the things that kept me from going to hell, or from having to get to the pearly gates via purgatory. Not being 12 years old anymore, I do not wonder where Radanovich and or Gore are heading for. But I have a pretty good idea where the earth might be heading if the Radanovich(es) of this earth have it their way.
