No matter how you feel about the political philisophy behind last week's Tea Parties and March for Water, you have to conclude that it's a very good thing that our elected officials hear directly from citizens through such movements. Although I don't support their entire agenda, I do back the idea of citizens petitioning their elected officials when they think the politicians have forgotten who they are serving. It's the only effective self-correcting device the public has when elected officials stray too far."
