Tell Pelosi and Reid to stop porking up Congressional spending bill

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid aren't doing President Barack Obama by loading up the omnibus spending bill will wasteful pet projects. In an editorial today, we urge Obama to tell Pelosi and Reid to cut the pork from the $410 billion bill to keep the government running, or he won't sign it.

The omnibus bill gives Republicans ammunition to make political points about the Democrats' spending habits. The pork also is causing a backlash among moderate Democrats.

The Fresno Bee's editorial also points out how Republicans are playing fast and loose with the facts about the Democrats being the only ones pushing pork. Here's an exceprt.

"While Republicans have criticized the pork in the bill, it contains pet projects from lawmakers from both political parties. So there's some hypocrisy in the Republicans' public stand against wasteful spending. In addition, the Republicans put plenty of pork into spending bills when they controlled Congress and the White House."

Jim - If you cut all of the pork from the spending bill, there won't be a spending bill. Besides, it doesn't really matter. All we have to do is tax the wealthy to pay for it.

I am agast with the insanity of the far-left. Yes, no-one likes a greedy person or institution, but how many people that you know, WHO ARE POOR, establish, maintain a business, AND PROVIDE JOBS?

What has happened to individual responsibility? Do we all expect something for nothing?

I am not afraid of our new president, I'm sure he's a great guy! It's just the "fruits and nuts" that are pulling his 'teleprompter' strings!

Wake up America! Do you desire to be serf's to the new King George and his Lords!

(Opps, I forgot to read about that in my civics class in high school!)

OH, by the way, do the schools teach 'civics' anymore in high school, or do they prefer 'revisionist, politically correct history' ?

Finally, is it time for another tea-party? Preferably on April 15th !

CNNs Senior Political Analyst, Gloria Borger produced this statement today regarding further bank bail-outs:

"...he's [Obama] going to -- he's going to meet a lot of resistance, even from Democrats in his own party,..."

I instantly asked myself...well what party would that be?
