The Illinois Senate has voted to remove impeached Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Lt. Gov. Patrick Quinn was immediately sworn in as Illinois' 41st governor.

Here's the bulletin that just moved:

Illinois governor thrown out of office

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has been
convicted at his impeachment trial and thrown out of office.

His removal comes nearly two months after his arrest on charges
of trying to sell Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat. He becomes the
first U.S. governor in more than 20 years to be removed by
impeachment.

The vote in the Illinois Senate to convict him of abuse of power
was 59-0. Lawmakers immediately began voting on whether to bar
Blagojevich from ever holding public office in Illinois.

Democratic Lt. Gov. Patrick Quinn automatically becomes the new
governor.

Earlier in the day, Blagojevich came to the Senate to make a
last-minute plea to save his job, warning lawmakers that they were
about to set a "dangerous" and "chilling" precedent.

I am not good at all with search engines. I learned little about the new Governor Patrick Quinn. I could not find out his religion. But I learned a little about the Illinois upcoming election. If that conservative pro life female candidate mentioned should win, it does not bode well for Illionois. I am poised to learn more from folk who are in the loop.

Wow they can sure act fast when they want to. Blago looks like a young (Baretta) Robert Blake. They just nailed him big time.

I have friends in Chicago, they are happy to see him impeached. They don't like to see this on national news, Blago made himself a news magnet.

I think he went on a national tour of the media to sell a book in the near future and make some cash out of all this.

And we are to pretend "The Messiah" came out of the sewer, that is the Chicago/Illinois political machine, clean and uncorrupted cause "He's Special".I hope "Blago" gets the chance to pull Obama's pants down in front of everyone. This should get even more interesting.

Isabell..."If that conservative pro life female candidate mentioned should win, it does not bode well for Illionois"??? As opposed to the circus they've just been put through???

"Bill" You've got a point there!

Outta sight, outta mind! Good thing for the Dems. A few days story. Obama outta the loop on this one, or at least he says so! Can you imagine if Blago was a Republican? The drive-by media / libs would never let us forget.
