As always, Armen Bacon's writing gives us pause to stop and reflect on the important things in life. In her piece that ran in yesterday's paper, she writes about how January is a natural time to reassess what's important in our lives.
"Plain and simple, there is something hopeful about the month of January. It is a month of new beginnings. Of promise and plenty. The world appears at your fingertips. The sky is not the limit. If you can dream it, you can be it."
We can all share in the simple words of this great visionary among us.
"Visualize your blank slate. Practice saying "tabula rasa." Let it roll off your tongue. Now jot down a few dream destinations. Add a suggestion box that has some creative solutions to whatever personal dilemmas you may be facing. Throw in a couple of book titles that have the power to transport you to another part of the world, fuel your imagination or make you better at something."
I kept looking at that pretty face with that luxurious abundance of hair around it , and I asked myself, who in hot place is she. As was suggested to me ---when in doubt google, I googled. I still don't know much about the lady. And to keep letting "tabula rasa" roll off my tongue did not sound very inviting to me. It may be all it's cracked up to be....but to me it conjures up the idée of a very large, creepy arachnid. hahaha!
Hello there, Armen.
I like to break it down a little further.
Monday is my favorite day for the
same reason that January is your favorite month.....
hope and renewal.
