Valley Partnership gets new lease on life -- sort of

First, the good news: The governor has signed an executive order renewing the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley for another three years. The bad news: There's no guarantee the group will get funding from the Legislature. That's the subject of our editorial today.

The partnership has done a great deal of good in its short life, especially in building a more regional consensus on the Valley's problems with poverty, job development, transportation, air quality and water issues. It has also raised the profile of the Valley and its issues in Sacramento. It would be a shame if the state's budget mess cost us this resource.

Sounds like a do nothing group.Has anybody, other than directors, got a job or anything out of this taxpayer subsidized group? How many of these groups are there in the state that are supposedly benefitting us(aka.taxpayers)that are paying for these obscure benefits?
