Obama's Irish roots

Opinion Talk regular Rob DeFrees forwarded this story from the Australian that reports on a song called "There's no one as Irish as Barack Obama," which is a big hit on YouTube:

The song is by Irish band Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys. Let's lift a pint to the President-elect's Irish roots.

And who says that Jim does not listen to bloggers??? Not MOI!

I guess Jim has a soft spot for people who are stuck on the "MOI" word.

Rich, it would help if you could picture 'Miss Piggy' pining after 'Kermit'.............'Miss Piggy' so sure and full of self and proclaiming to whole world: "MOI" in disdelief..............makes perfect sense to this little piggy it does.........bet you are one of the folks who do not believe in 'fairies' as well and would allow poor 'Tinker Bell' to die.

What was it that Whitman had to say?

Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes.
Walt Whitman

The word "MOI" to Ms. Piggy?

The only thing I can associate to "Ms. Piggy" is the fact that I broiled a ham for Thanksgiving.

Thanks Ms. Piggy for your selfless sacrafice:)

"Kermit" and frog legs, tried it once, tastes like chicken, sorry Kermit.

I thought the "Messiah" was born in Kenya.

HA!! Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys!

I thought the song was funny ....thanks for posting. Who knew Obama's great [great] grandfather was from Moneygall, Ireland? Gotta love the Irish humour. Reminds me of a joke:

Paddy was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important meeting and couldn't find a parking place anywhere. Looking up to heaven he said, "Lord take pity on me. If you find me a parking place, I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of me life and give up me Irish Whiskey!" Miraculously, a parking place appeared. Paddy looked up again and said, "Never mind, I found one."

You believe in a "messiah" to come out of Kenya, Brian? And here I always thought you were a Christian of some sort. What religion are you, if I may ask?

I didn't label Obama "The Messiah"...your buddy Farakan did and the left has embraced that by electing a noephyte to be president. Are you prepared for the testing in the first six months Obiden warned us about.I've still got those pork n beans for you in my disaster supplies.

You give that much validity to anything Farrakhan says?

And yes.....that's exactly why an overwhelming majority of Americans voted for Obama...because Farrakhan called him The Messiah.

Brian,

Sheer ignorance in your words, sheer ignorance.

How many of the voting block considered Farakan's words when voting for Obama?
