We blogged earlier on Opinion Talk about our initial thoughts about Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's appearance this morning before the editorial board. You can listen to the entire conversation by clicking here.
The audio runs about 55 minutes.

I believe with Villines and others that before we start paying more taxes there is still a lot of fat to cut like fancy legislative jackets. Why not a citizen's panel go to Sacramento with someone like me to check things out? Also, we have many older, retired executive types, retired judges, professors, accountants and other intelligent people who might be willing to volunteer their time as government employee costs are out of control. Same with City of Fresno as I am sure Ashley will find a lot of ways to cut costs of government. One way is she will do away with the "Deputy Mayor" position that was never legal. Also, by adding an Independent Police Auditor immediately the word will go out to errant police officers and city liability claims and costs will go down.
It was asked some time back to keep posts on point.
MOI listened to the Governor. Was there any on editorial staff that did, or were minds already closed to his words? Talk about obtuse.
The Governor is trying............even when he has to deal with politicians that the Fresno Bee
promotes as worthy of votes, when they clearly are not doing their jobs.
Hard times can bring out the 'mean' in folks and the editorial staff at the Fresno Bee in the rarified air of their 'ivory tower' must be so full of wisdom, they do not have to help the Governor sell his message.
Want to bet that Fresno Bee has a rate rise in near future? Must be nice to draw a fat pay packet while 'Rome burns'.
