Hillary Clinton would be a solid choice as Obama's secretary of state

OBAMA-CLINTON.JPGMy prediction has been that Hillary Clinton would be Barack Obama's first appointment to the Supreme Court when an opening occurs, but now there's serious talk that she will be his secretary of state.

Obama and Clinton met in Chicago on Thursday afternoon, according to this story. In additon to Clinton, other possible candidates for secretary of state are Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, a Democrat.

But Clinton is emerging as the most likely pick for secretary of state. She has played down suggestions that she will be part of the Obama cabinet, saying she is happy representing New York in the U.S. Senate. But then that's what she's supposed to say. She's ready to move on from the Senate.

First glance MOI thought glass were bad, you think the snap of Senator Clinton could be any bigger?

No doubt who you love........not sure it is shared by all.

MOI bets that Senator Clinton will NOT get the nod. Bring back Colin Powell as Secretary of State............right bold move that would be.

Hillary would be great. She has street smarts which is what a Secretary of State needs. And this would be true to Obama's vision of unity; all of the Hillary dissidents in his own party would be largely placated. A great choice.

Hillary would make an excellent Secy of Health & Human Services. From that post she could reform the health care system. Or, she could remain in the Senate and lead health care reform legislation. But, Secy of State? There are better candidates, and better uses of Hillary's talents.

Hillary for Sec of State? Absolutely NOT! Hillary is a Marxist just like the president elect. We're in for some very disturbing times. The people elected a persona, not an ideology. That, dear people, is the personification of idiocy.

Do you even know what the word Marxist means, Dick?

Hell no. If he were to do so, President-elect Obama would make a mockery of his self-stated desire to be bi-partisan. Putting Hillary anywhere in his cabinet during his first term would be a HUGE mistake. Moreover, do I need to point out the obvious? Hillary has no experience in foreign affairs and traveling as First Lady does nothing to overcome this deficiency. The best thing she can do to help the Democratic Party is to remain in the Senate. Madeline Albright would be a much better Secretary of State. She did a great job under Bill Clinton and you would be hard pressed to find a Republican worth his or her salt would would have a valid reason for objecting to her.

I can not believe this. After all she said about Obama, She has got more guts then any one I have ever known.
If we would have wanted her any where near the white house we would have voted for her.
I hope this does not happen

In my opinion she should have been picked for VP but failing that Secretary of State would be great for our nation. She is as hard as they come, tough, smart, diplomatic, and highly experienced in foreign affairs. Having been the former first lady would serve her in good stead in carrying out her responsibilities and advising the President.

Better the S O S than the Supreme Court!

I’m not surprised that Hilary and Obama will most likely end up working on the same team in the white house, Obama as President and Hill-dawg as Secretary of State. Do you know what one major mutual thing they shared in common was?
They both have shared a vision to lead American. Hilary didn’t win the presidential election but isn’t it ironic that she will probably end up in one of the most important leadership positions in the Government. Her vision to lead was so strong that she could taste it – and now a senior leadership position has attracted her to the white house – unbelievable.

Any goal or desired outcome starts with a vision. There’s a great video and download here that describes how to realize your dream by creating a Vision Board, a device that entrepreneurs, government officials, and highly successful people are all now doing.

She has far more experience than Obama and would do a good a job as anyone else he could pick. She may have said things about him but she campaigned hard for him anyway.

Barry and his posse probably figure it's better to have the Clintons inside the White House than outside it causing trouble.Interesting how his terrorist pals Bill and Doreen are everywhere now giving interviews and promoting a book...after the election. Please tell me again we were not manipulated by the main stream media.

So far, President elect Obama has named or hinted at ordinary, run-of-the mill, centrist Democrats for public office. These folks are as wedded to the status quo as their Republican counterparts are wedded to the status-quo ante. When do we get to "The Change We Need"?

Change? When people will shift priorities back to above the waist???? Over-simplification? Yes! Unoteworthy? No!

P.S. And President Obama will be looking for us fresnobeehive gurus....hahaha!

it seems like, if Hillary becomes the Sec. State, then there will be some serious personality and agenda conflict between her and Obama

Brian and your immune to media manipuation because you listen to right wing media?

Rich...FYI-I listen to parts of NPR during the 7-9 am period then parts of Rush Limbaugh from 9-12 if I'm in the truck and I read "Duh Bee" in the morning with coffee from 5-5:30 am.When I'm working out between 6-7pm I may watch a little CNN or Fox if ther's not a sporting event or Law and Order episode on.That's about all the manipulation I expose myself to.I don't expect you to reveal any of your habits...hell,you're afraid to even give your last name.
