We wrote an editorial a couple of weeks ago about a Fresno County effort to reach out to young voters and interest them in voting this year. Well, the young people engaged in this effort are wasting no time in starting their work.
The kNOw, a group of young journalists, has already produced a video to air on Channel 24. I think it's a good start, so pass it on to all young voters in your household. Just click here. Sam Norman of The Rios Company will says the first youth workshop will be held Aug. 4 from 4-6 p.m. at the Economic Opportunities Commission conference room.
By the way, are you registered to vote? It's easy! You can fill out the form online. Just click here. The deadline is Oct. 20.
Thanks for helping highlight the students efforts. Your hyperlink to the video on our website is wrong and leave people with an error message. Here is the proper link:

Good for them! I applaud their enthusiasm. Hopefully they won't go in and read some of the other threads in the "Beehive" where we can't seem to get along. That'll put them off politics forever.
Are these young people being educated on the Bill of Rights, and the Constituion? Are they educated in an unbiased fashion, or are they only taught to vote for Obama?
How is it a taxpayer funder group, Rios Company, is being allowed to favor only minority youth? Shouldn't the efforts to register voters be evenly divided across the all ethnic lines? This sounds like discrimination to me. Not surprising, Rios Company has a history of such.
In response to the humorously apt blog by "Scot."
As long as I was able, I enrolled at Fresno State for one or two classes per semester (for personal enrichment.) The young students were great; sometimes an inspiration, sometimes a revelation. They were not "put off" on politics, only on us their antecedents.
In the "PERSUASION" class my leitmotif was "Why to get involved in the community." The approval of my appeal went from 0.62% to 92.7%.(Of course I got an "A")
The conservatives don't seem to be running these brainwashing camps and if they have to be motivated they are probably not informed so I would prefer they stay home.
