Limbaugh has this Armenian genocide thing all figured out

Rush Limbaugh has put his ineffable stamp on the debate over the Armenian genocide resolution in Congress. In his morning update segment on KMJ radio today he characterized the resolution as just another attempt by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic lackeys to sabotage the Iraq war effort by angering Turkey, a key ally in the Middle East.

(In case you forgot, Turkey is the key ally that denied passage to American forces in the invasion of Iraq and is now poised to help stabilize the region by invading Kurdish regions of northern Iraq. The Kurds, of course, are another key U.S ally.)

Limbaugh must be talking about that running dog of a Democratic stooge, George Radanovich, and all the other Republicans who are co-sponsors of the genocide resolution. Ah, that Rush -- right on top of things, as usual.

It proves the point; most of the miasma that emanates from his pie-hole is factually and morally incorrect. This pseudo-man once accepted welfare but now rails against its evils He also avoided the draft with a suspect medical excuse and now clamors for war while calling soldiers who disagree with him "phony soldiers." How pathetic.

Wayne, I would say that you are the pie - hole. If you read the transcript on the "phony soldiers" incident you would know better. But you are a lemming like most liberals afflicted with Bush Derangement Syndrome.

So Wayne's a "pie-hole" for insulting Rush? I guess Hell hath no fury like a ditto-head scorned.

Anyway, is this the transcript you were referring to:

LIMBAUGH: "Save the -- keep the troops safe" or whatever. I -- it's not possible, intellectually, to follow these people.

CALLER 2: No, it's not, and what's really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media.

LIMBAUGH: The phony soldiers.

CALLER 2: The phony soldiers. If you talk to a real soldier, they are proud to serve. They want to be over in Iraq. They understand their sacrifice, and they're willing to sacrifice for their country.

LIMBAUGH: They joined to be in Iraq. They joined --

CALLER 2: A lot of them -- the new kids, yeah.

LIMBAUGH: Well, you know where you're going these days, the last four years, if you signed up. The odds are you're going there or Afghanistan or somewhere.

CALLER 2: Exactly, sir.

It's just an excerpt, but I don't see where Wayne got it wrong.

GEORGE W. BUSH RECOGNIZES ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

Republican Candidate Calls on Americans to Remember and Acknowledge "Facts and Lessons" of the "Genocidal Campaign" against the Armenians

Washington, DC -- In a powerfully worded letter to two of his leading Armenian American supporters, Republican presidential hopeful Texas Governor George Bush acknowledged the Armenian Genocide, called on Americans to join with him in remembering the crime committed against the Armenian people, and pledged as President to ensure that the United States properly recognizes this terrible atrocity, reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).

Governor Bush's letter, addressed to Michigan community activist Edgar Hagopian and New York businessman Vasken Setrakian, who attended Harvard with the Governor, also called for continued U.S. aid to Armenia, encouraged a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabagh conflict, and praised the "tremendous contribution of the Armenian community to the United States."

PRESIDENT BUSH BREAKS PLEDGE TO RECOGNIZE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

WASHINGTON, DC - President George W. Bush today broke his promise to recognize the Armenian Genocide, reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).

In a statement issued today, on April 24th, the annual day of remembrance for the Armenian Genocide, the President resorted to the use of evasive and euphemistic terminology to obscure the reality of Turkey's Genocide against the Armenian people. His position on this grave issue runs counter to the expectations of the American people and the bipartisan consensus of Congress - as expressed recently in a letter signed by over 100 U.S. Representatives.

Mike,
Being called a lemming by Rush’s b***h is funny. Mike, you proudly belong to a groupthink of wackos who are lead by a leash with Rush’s every word. Your leader is a radio-evangelist that preaches about Christianity while being divorced three times and counting, rails against drug abusers while being a drug addict, was a welfare recipient yet continues to condemn any assistance from the government and on and on. I make these points not because they bother me, but because it goes against what you preach. These are your rules and your freaks that break them (Ted Haggard, Larry Craig, Sen. Vitter, Duke Cunningham, that transvestite Andy Coulter and a list that never seems to end). It is proof that you belong to a gaggle of hypocrites and you’re not to be taken seriously. Set aside your blinders and read the transcript, you will see the truth.

Rush was refering to Jesse McBeth who said a bunch of crap about being a ranger and witnessing all these atrocities committed by American soldiers during his tour in Iraq. The media and the left ran with it. Dirty little secret you can't admit to yourself-He never made it out of bootcamp.Any retraction from the left or the media. Not on your life.Phoney soldier- Hell yes and dispicable that you would mischaracterize it Wayne, Mike D.etc..As far as misbehaving politicians-Democrats have got to be kidding if they want to get into that argument. It was a different world when George W.Bush made those statements. Here is what you should be upset about-41 senators signed a letter to Clear Channel demanding that Rush Limbaugh be censored by his syndicated partner.3 of them presidential candidates. You probably didn't hear about that did you? Hey,why let facts get in the way.Vote Democrat if you are against Free Speech.Wayne you come across as a tormented little person. Maybe you are.

I didn't "mischaracterize" anything, Brian. I simply posted a portion of the transcript. I don't see any mention of this McBeth fellow there. Instead, Rush is talking about "phony soldiers" (plural), referring to them as "they" (also plural). Maybe he brought up McBeth later (you haven't shown that), but he was clearly talking about some other people in the segment I posted.

You can believe whatever you need to believe, but it looks to me like all this "Rush was wronged" righteous indignation is seriously misplaced.

Brian,
Sorry I hurt your feelings (I could almost hear the Kleenex flying out of the box), but it’s the truth.
Rush has characterized soldiers that disagreed with him as "phony soldiers." You, and others like you, hail the soldier under your false patriotism unless he or she disagrees with you. That’s how you can trash a real soldier like Max Clelend, a triple amputee (from battle wounds) who fought in the Vietnam War.
The truth is Bush spoke out during his campaign to finally acknowledge the Armenian Genocide and now he’s against it. By your party’s definition, that is a flip-flop. If I remember correctly, the flip-flop is an abhorrent character flaw committed by those who have no principle or grounded set of morals. But you’re saying the flip-flop is necessary in this instance sounds typical of the moral relativism the right wing condemns, yet continually practices.
And how is Bush protecting our free speech? By wire-tapping and the “Patriot Act?” Why don’t I feel safer after all that and years of war? Probably because I’m not.

The bottom line is Rush's bottom line. He makes a living polarizing our country and to keep it that way. Yes we can also argue the same on the other side as well.

Please realize this is a non-partisan resolution, Congressman from both parties signed on.

Mike D., Wayne, Rich-whatever satisfies your twisted logic and distortion of the truth.I can only assume your embarassed of your positions because none of you are willing to post your last names. Kind of like the drive by media .No accountability. How come there are not any left talk show hosts of any prominence. Probably because people seek facts truth. Some people. How has the Patriot Act changed your life? Facts please.Isn't it nice that no acts of terrorism have occurred on our soil since 9/11.Very nice indeed.Too bad you guys are on the side of the terrorists. You should be on the side of your country and those that give you the freedom to be the lovely folks you are.Maybe I ge t to listen to Rush 1-2 hours total a week.Usually in the truck going to jobs.Hannity and Fox News-not at all. Who has the time when your working to make a living and trying t make your community, state, and country a better place. What do you guys do?

Sheesh, Brian, I just posted a bit of the transcript. Are Rush's words such a source of embarassment to you that you felt the need to resort that little name-calling tantrum above?

Hello everyone, I was initially drawn to this page on account of the headline. Honestly, I found it quite humorous. After reading the previous reactions on the page; I find myself "biting at the bit" to write.
Bryan, I'm sorry, our current president is capitalizing on unintelligent Americans. He does not deserve to be reveled or backed to the degree that his supporters do so. His morals do waiver, as mentioned above.
Brian, I'm sure you are a good man. But, our president is using you, you are one of the unintelligent. Your grammar and your punctuation are elementary. I hope I'm wrong, I hope you are thinking for yourself and reading between the lines. But, I'm sorry, I don't think so.

Brian,
I spend much of my time volunteering for worthy causes while working and raising a family. Part of my volunteer work is to respond to wrong-minded people like you, to counter your sad and pathetic views, like your false accusation that I support terrorist. That’s a common statement from a lightweight fringe thinker, like you. Of course I don’t. In fact, I’m still waiting for Bush to go after the actual terrorist who planned the attacks on 9/11. The last statement I heard from Bush on bin laden was, “…I don't know where he is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him… to be honest with you.” So much for justice.
If anything, your party is causing the support of terrorism by an undeclared unprovoked war and by implicitly and explicitly threatening Iran among many other blunders. As usual, this administration confuses the Iranian government and ayatollas with the people of Iran. It’s like confusing someone who is a Christian in name only with Christianity.
A friend of mine from Iran said most Iranians want good relations with the U.S. This view has been reported and confirmed. The will of the Iranian people could be fostered, but it isn’t. Instead, Bush shows he’s willing to continue the same failed policies that got us into our current debacle.
Lastly, saying there have been no terrorist attacks since 9/11 is an odd statement. Does 9/11 not count? By your logic, except for 3000 deaths and billions of dollars of destruction on 9/11, an unnecessary war that has taken thousands of our soldiers lives and hundreds of thousands of innocent lives, the displacing of millions and causing wholesale disruption in a part of the world we know nothing about, Bush has done a good job fighting terrorism.
How disturbing.

Add Jason to the list of cowards. You guys are right-I'm just a pawn being used.So sad.

Come on, Brian. Name-calling is for grade-schoolers. Have you anything more of substance to say?

Look at my previous post:

"The bottom line is Rush's bottom line. He makes a living polarizing our country and to keep it that way. Yes we can also argue the same on the other side as well.

Please realize this is a non-partisan resolution. Congressman from both parties signed on."

And I'm on the side of terrorists?

Sorry, Brian, you lost your credibility in my book.

I agree with Wayne. Enough said.

Mike D.-Did you just call me a name? Wayne volunteers to correct wrong minded people? Do I have anything of substance to say? Rich agrees with Wayne? I think this has run it's course.

Nope. The only name I've called you is Brian. As for substance, you are big on vague assertions, but pretty short on facts in your attempt to defend Rush. But I don't blame you - what else can you do when the facts aren't in your favor?
