Stop the insanity!

I'm ready for this election to be over, just so I can stop seeing and hearing the political commercials on TV. But it's only going to get worse between now and Nov. 7, since absentee ballots are now in voters' hands. I wish there were a switch for the television so that once you returned your ballot you could turn off the flow.

The worst are the negative ads, where candidates attack their opponents instead of saying what they will do if elected. And there are definitely some negative ads out there this year.

Which ones bother you the most? And what can we do about them?

I want one cable/TV station dedicated to all political candidates. They can say whatever they want, for as long as they want, 24 hours a day.

The price they pay is no more signs cluttering the streets of our cities.

But, that would be the ONLY channel they get.

There is a switch, it's called TIVO!

The switch is the off button on the TV.

I dont care for ANY political ads. I would prefer debates. Live conversations so we can see how these people think. Debates where I could go and have the chance to ask a question.

chuck poochigian's ad shows charly manson....yipes!im not sure jerry brown is anti=charly manson...is he?

I am not as annoyed by the political television coverage because I blip through them on TiVo. (It's no wonder advertisers don't like TiVo!) In all honesty even with as much TV as I watch- I would be hard-pressed to recall a single election commercial. HOWEVER... what is driving me plain bonkers are the political telephone calls. Today I had three. I have gotten to the point where I don't even listen to what they have to say- I hang up. The calls are annoying enough that I spent the last half hour searching on the internet in an attempt to find out if there is a way to get OFF their call lists. I have not had much luck!
VOTER VIGILANTE
So, Candidates Be Warned... from today forth- should you choose to call my home and play me a recorded message you have my solemn word that YOU WILL NOT GET MY VOTE. If my vote was on the fence in your race, it just fell the other way. If I was planning to vote for you-- I am now abstaining from voting for you or your cause.
I understand that it may only cost you a nickel to call me at an inconvenient time and play a recorded message that you got to rehearse, edit and record with multiple takes, where it cost you 50¢ to send me a mailer- which I can peruse and consider peacefully while waiting for soccer practice to end or waiting in the line of cars at school for kids to be released- then consider the 45¢ you saved the amount it would have cost to have my consideration in your favor. I will not vote for a candidate or proposition whose proponents will cut corners get the job done and who do no consider MY time valuable. If you do not care about ME (or those like me) I don't want your representation.
I am placing a list next to my telephone and now through Election Day - I will track each unwanted political call and I WILL not vote in their favor on Election Day. Maybe I'll record a lengthy message of my own and call their office and play it regardless of if they answer in person or I go to voicemail.
