Still puzzled

On the way to work this morning, I pulled up at a stop sign next to a brand new Toyota Prius. I've been interested in the hybrid vehicles since they first came out, so I gave this one a brief look. Nice car.

The driver, in shirt and tie and, presumably, on his way to work like me, took off from the stop sign. That's when I spotted the bumper sticker on the back of his car: "Sierra Club Sucks."

OK, what's up with that? An environmentally conscious automobile in the hands of someone who despises treehuggers? Is it his wife's car, but his political statement? Did a neighbor sneak over and put the bumper sticker on when no one was looking?

Maybe the guy's just a real complex thinker, or perhaps he's just unclear on the concept. It's like baseball: Every time you go to a game, you see something you've never seen before.

Russ, I'd have to say that I too like the look of the Prius and can appreciate the fuel efficiency. Just because we like to save money and the environment, doesn't mean we have to like the Sierra Club. I agree with the bumper sticker.
