arrowIron Bird Cafe reopens with new look, menu

Lots of buzz this morning about the Iron Bird Cafe opening today. Owner Ann Liao, who owns three Teazers World Market tea shops in Fresno, tells me they decided at midnight last night to have a "soft opening" this morning. The official opening is Wednesday, but they're up and running if you want to check it out.

Here's a little back story on the changes the new owner made.

The cafe carries a variety of coffees, including Vietnamese and Turkish, and dessert-in-a-cup confections like coconut mocha latte with steamed milk, whip cream and shredded
coconut on top. (I tried a caramel latte with soy milk. It was yummy.)

The menu includes sandwiches, from basics like turkey and roast beef to a salami panini and a Waldorf salad sandwich with chicken salad and lettuce on a croissant. A photo of the tapas menu is below.

The workers have put a lot of work into the place, repainting and adding cushy furniture to make it a place people feel comfortable hanging out. Here's a few photos I snapped this morning.

That's the cold-drip coffee below. It's brewed cold, drop by drop, and takes 6-7 hours to brew.
