A third candidate has announced that he wants to succeed termed-out Fresno City Council Member Mike Dages in southeast Fresno's District 5.

Jose Leon Barraza, former Fresno County economic development director, submitted his official statement of candidate intent on Thursday, Fresno City Clerk Becky Klisch said.

Two other candidates have previously confirmed they plan to run for Dages's seat -- Fresno Unified board member Valerie Davis and leadership coach Louise Bauer Davoli.
