arrowThe return of the town halls

Gee, remember when congressional town halls were all the rage? All that fussin' and fightin' wonderful expression of democracy in action; well, the local health care debate resumes Monday in Kerman.

Rep. George Radanovich, R-Mariposa -- who did not host a town hall during the hot weeks of August -- will be holding a public session focused on health care starting at 3:30 p.m. The event is scheduled to last 90 minutes, at the C-MEC Building located at 1401 S. Madera Ave.

Radanovich bills the meeting as a chance for constituents "to ask questions and share their thoughts about the current healthcare reform debate taking place in Congress." The nice thing about the in-person sessions, as opposed to the telephone conferences convened by some lawmakers, is the heightened possibility of spontaneous combustion debate.

Radanovich is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, one of the panels responsible for writing health legislation.
