Word on the Street -- Starbucks goes to college
This week's Word on the Street is up on the Web. It includes the full-fledged Starbucks opening in the new wing of Fresno State's Madden Library, a new graffiti-busting system and Teazer World Tea Market's plans to open a second location downtown.
Interesting locations for the coffee and tea shops. What do you think of Teazers vowing to stay open late downtown? Think they'll get enough customers?
Also, what do you think of Starbucks going into the library? I know the library gave its approval to take drinks into the stacks, but I can't help but wonder if there are librarians cringing at the thought of coffee stains on reference books.
Keep reading for more photos by Bee photographer Eric Paul Zamora, including that awesome exterior view.

Comments:
I think Teazer will do just fine, because A.) There is nothing like it (in terms of product/atmosphere/hours of operation) downtown. Plus, Ann is smart. She's make it work.

She does seem to have put a lot of thought and research into it. Good luck to them.

The opening of Teazer's downtown is very exciting. That makes three new restaurants/cafes opening within two blocks on Kern Street in March alone! In addition to Teazer's, Kebab Express is opening in the renovated Virgina Hotel at Kern & L Street and the Fresno Newsroom Cafe is opening right next door in the same building, the former Savannah's Cafe. The Kern Street / Galleria corridor is one of the strongest in downtown in terms of dining options already, and these additions will only make it that much stronger. I also am told that Sushi Hana in the Crescent building is planning on expanding their downtown operation.
