I thought I had it bad getting up at 2:45 a.m. to cover the Black Friday craziness at 4 a.m. this morning.

Come to find out some of the people waiting in line outside J.C. Penney at Fashion Fair mall had been there since midnight. Some never even went to bed.

The line was hundreds of people long at 3:45 a.m., with lines also forming outside Forever 21 and the Disney Store inside the mall.

After the initial rush into the early-opening stores, it was interesting to see which stores shoppers lined up at that were opening at 5 a.m. A massive line formed outside Forever 21, eight people sat outside girls store Club Libby Lu and more than 20 people waited for the Vans shoe store to open.

And of course, the Starbucks kiosk, the source of precious caffeine that opened at 3:30 a.m., had a line 23 people long.

We've got other reporters sleeping in going out throughout the day, so check out fresnobee.com for updates on this unusual day.
