The Building Industry Association of the San Joaquin Valley and Madera County Women's Council is honoring 23 high school and college students with more than $15,000 worth of scholarships.

Many of the recipients are students in young builder programs at Fresno State University and Fresno City College, and some are children of association members.
The recipients were Fresno State students Christopher Conley, Aaron Covarrubias, Antonio Gonzalez, Nathan Long, Rafael Magallan, Matthew McLaughlin, Amanda Nelson, Jose Ruvalcaba and Graham Wahlberg.

Fresno City College students receiving scholarships were Gerardo Huerta, Jasdeep Singh, Henry Kinuthia, Cameron Cooley, Princess Madden and Enrique Flores.

Women's Council scholarships went to Jessica Sensenbough, Emily Derderian, Jordan Butler, Chelsea Ohanesian, Blaine Martin, Jeremy Sherrell, A.J. Castillo and Steven Lewis.
