Any Black Friday shoppers out there?
I just signed up to start work at 4 a.m. on Black Friday. What was I thinking?
Yep, I'll be out there with all you crazy dedicated shoppers, waiting in line in the dark for the Disney store at Fashion Fair mall to open at 4 a.m. The rest of the mall opens at 5 a.m.
Who is going to join me?
It sounds like there will be more of you out there looking for deals this year. The deals, by the way, are being leaked here and here.
I did some calling around to find out what time Fresno stores open the day after Thanksgiving and here's what I found:
- The Preferred Outlets at Tulare, midnight Friday
- Disney store 4 a.m.
- J.C. Penney 4 a.m.
- Toys "R" Us 5 a.m.
- Wal-Mart 5 a.m.
- Best Buy 5 a.m.
- Kmart 6 a.m.
- Target 6 a.m.
- Sierra Vista Mall 6 a.m.
So who else is planning on shopping on Black Friday? What's your game plan? I'm at least getting paid to get up that early. Can someone please explain why people do it if they're not getting paid?

Comments:
black friday is going to be a bust this year.
predictions estimate sales volume on black friday will be down 35-40% as people wait for the even better deals to follow in december. this is going to be a bloodbath for retailers.

You may be right. Check out this story. Why get up early for deals when you can get them at 2 p.m. on a Saturday?
