Fresno entrepreneur GP Singh plans to open a Dickey’s Barbecue restaurant in Fresno later this year.

Singh, an Army veteran, said in a statement that after he served his time he decided to explore franchising opportunities which led him to Dallas and Dickey’s Barbecue.

“After one lunch, I was sold,” said Singh. “Barbecue is underrepresented in the Fresno market and Dickey’s fast-casual concept will set us apart.”

Dallas-based Dickey’s is well-known throughout the country for its flavorful hickory-smoked barbecue and its friendly, family atmosphere. With 90 locations nationwide, it is the fastest-growing fast casual barbecue chain in the country.
