The KSEE 24 Sunrise crew got in on the "Call Me Maybe" craze with this funny little video.

They definitely show some personality. I enjoyed Faith and Pamela's enthusiasm, Feleena and Matt's dance moves, the crew, and -- Bud's deadpan style.

If you haven't seen the other popular takes, check out these videos.

CEK CHERRIES 01.JPGThe seasonal farmers markets are opening, which give local food lovers many more opportunities to pick up fresh, fabulous food. I thought I would share a few links to help you explore the local food scene.

Where to go?
Check out this map/list of local markets, including brief descriptions.

What to eat?
Cherries are just hitting the stand. The season is expected to be shorter for cherries because of some bad weather damaging the crop, but farmers say the fruit is sweet this year. It's also prime strawberry season, so here's a really great map/list of all the local strawberry stands so you can find one close to home. Other berries, including blackberries and blueberries, should be arriving in the next couple weeks. And there are lots of great veggies, herbs and specialty foods, including snow peas, onions, basil, fresh-squeezed juice, etc. available.

reviveyourbike2012.bmpNo more excuses. It's time to dust off your bike and hit the streets on two wheels. To help get you on your way, I Bike Fresno is holding its annual Revive Your Bike event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Manchester Center parking lot (northeast corner of Blackstone Ave. and Shields).

The event kicks off the Million Mile Challenge that's part of Bike Month in May. The Million Mile Challenge encourages people in Fresno to log their bicycle miles in May in an effort to collectively reach 1 million miles. In 2011, cyclists logged 142,743 miles.

Revive Your Bike in a free expo. Organizers encourage residents to bring their bikes -- rusty chains, flat tire and all -- for complimentary service and repair. Local bicycle shops and volunteers will repair the first 150 bikes for free. Bike registration is 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., limit one bike, per-person.

The Fresno Art Museum did a wonderful job creating an entertaining fundraiser on Saturday with its fashion-meets-recycling concept Trashique. The event really showcases creativity and innovation through fashion. I really loved how the artists interpreted the 13 scenes, each inspired by different art theme. I particularly loved the Van Gogh and pop-art designs.

Above all, I find the use of these "trash" materials inspired. All the designs showed ingenuity. It was fun getting a closer look at the designs after the show and realizing how beautiful odd objects can become when manipulated in a creative way. I'd love to hear what you think of the fashion, so share your critiques in the comments for this edition of You Rate the Look.

I'll start with one of my favorites, from Adam Mena (modeled by Skylar Devoogd), which used balloon fragments. (Sorry for the soft focus - low light + iPhone = not too sharp).

bikevaletsign.jpgI have a great idea for this weekend: Bike, park and enjoy the fun.

There's no better time to dust off your bike and hit the streets than this weekend. Not only will the weather be great for riding (cool, and partly cloudy as the storms move out, if you believe the weather forecast), but there are two great events to ride to: The always popular Big Hat Days in Old Town Clovis and the Earth Day celebration at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 2672 East Alluvial Avenue.

The best part? Both events offer free Valet Bike Parking. That's right, you don't even have to carry a lock. The volunteers at I Bike Fresno will make sure your bike is secure until you're ready to pick it up and ride out.

COSMETICS.jpgSo InStyle Magazine posted one of those "top city" lists, this one on the most beauty-obsessed cities. Fresno ranked No. 1, beating out New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas.

Here's what the InStyle post says:

We asked the brainiacs at FourSquare to tally the data from its 15 million users to find out which cities users are checking into most for beauty stores like Ulta, Sephora, and more. And, according to the free mobile app, the most beauty-obsessed city with over 300,000 check-ins is Fresno, CA, which is home to five beauty schools, as well as multiple beauty retailers.

So is Fresno really that vain? Does counting how often people "check in" at store that sales beauty products really determine obsession? I think Fresno may just have a lot of FourSquare users who like free samples of makeup and perfume.

legrilledcheese.jpgApril is National Grilled Cheese Month (there's even an invitational), so let's discuss where to find the best grilled cheese sandwich in the Valley. Because, really, is there any better sandwich?

I've actually only come across one I think has the wow factor -- you know the kind of sandwich you dream about. It's the Dusty Buns Bistro's "Le Grilled Cheese" -- made with aged white cheddar and smoked bacon -- topping my list. I'm not the only one in LOVE with this gooey sandwich, there are raves and more raves out there.

I saw this adorable photo on the Fresno Chaffee Zoo Facebook page and just had to share it. So sweet!

Voting for Round 4 -- our Only 8! battle -- is now open and runs until 8 p.m. Sunday. Go vote. Even if you haven't voted before, you can still jump in with your vote. Your votes matter. Just ask the ValleyHopefuls who lost by a matter of votes in previous rounds.

Let's analyze.

"Breaking through the Breakdown" is a dance show that tells the story of breaking down the barriers that hold us back in life. The show is staged, acted and danced well. But I have to say that I was a bit disappointed.

I'm not sure if it was the photo in the Rogue Map, or the impromptu show that I passed by the group of dancers in front of the Tower Theatre Saturday afternoon, but I was expecting a break dance show. To me, that means a show filled with mostly break dancing. This show was not. I would describe it more as a contemporary dance show that happens to feature a bit of break dancing.

Vincent Gonzales, who wrote, directed and stars in the show, has wonderful talent. The pain and confusion of his character was palatable throughout the show. When he danced, it was fantastic fun. Unfortunately, it seemed he spent more time crouched, writhing on the edges of the dance floor than he did actually dancing. The moment he "breaks through" and embraces dance was fabulous, energetic and engaging. There just wasn't enough of it to satisfy me.
