Concert News: ‘Yo Gabba Gabba’ is gonna get your kid’s sillies out

The news that my son* has been waiting for: “Yo Gabba Gabba” is coming back to Fresno. The trippy toddler show — often referred to as hipster “Sesame Street” — is doing a live show at Saroyan Theatre on March 7. It’s previously played Save Mart Center twice. The live show features the main “Yo Gabba Gabba” characters, plus hip-hop legend Biz Markie, who does a beat-boxing segment with the Gabba gang. Tickets go on sale Dec. 7, but prices haven’t been announced yet.

*Can’t lie, dad is pretty stoked too.

Five Things You Should Do This Weekend

Other than Winter Jam, that big ol’ Christian rock concert at Save Mart Center.

1. LAUGH WITH THE GUITAR GUY
Brian “Guitar Guy” Haner is at Fulton 55 on Saturday night. His music-meets-comedy schtick has taken him on tour with Jeff Dunham and made him a frequent guest on “The Bob & Tom Show.” To get a taste of his comedy, swing by his site and listen to his “Kardashian Song.”

The show is a Nickelodeon hit, but also achieved a bit of clout in the music world — artists such as MGMT and The Roots have been on Yo Gabba Gabba!, and the show’s characters even performed at Coachella. Case in point: Hip-hop legend Biz Markie is on the tour, teaching kids how to beatbox.

Tickets cost $37 and go on sale at noon on Friday at the Save Mart Center or through Ticketmaster.
