Alt-rock/Christian band Project 86 visits Fulton 55 tonight, fresh off the release of “Wait for the Siren,” its latest album. It’s been a while since we’ve seen them in Fresno, and this time, the SoCal-bred rockers are playing with San Jose rockers I Am Empire and Fresno band Session. Get your tickets here. Or, if you’re the first person to leave a comment saying you want to go, we’ll get you a pair of tickets from promoter Love the Captive. You’re welcome. Just be sure to leave a valid e-mail address so we can contact you. An since this tonight, be close to your e-mail.
Now here’s the discussion point: What did you think of the festival? In its fifth year, has Fuse Fest hit its stride? Does it still have some improvement to do? What would you like to see done better? What could make Fuse Fest reach out past the “usual suspects” and the get the whole city to rally behind it?
The people I talked to Saturday night were handing out both praise and ideas on how to make the festival better. So what do YOU think? For more on Fuse Fest, read recaps over at Fresno Famous and The Fresnan.
This is a bit of a coup for the Fresno music scene tonight: L.A. band Fool’s Gold makes a tour stop at Audie’s Olympic along with local band Sunburns, which is the current project of “Bad” Andy Bunnell, formerly of Pinkeye.
Fool’s Gold plays a fusion of African rhythms with American pop — so there’s a nice breezy, catchy sound to what they do. But this ain’t just some ol’ weird hipster stuff. Fool’s Gold actually toured with Red Hot Chili Peppers last year.
