Observations from a grumpy old man

  • “Top Chef “ judge Padma Lakshmi tells Playboy “If I kissed you, I could probably tell you what you had for lunch.” That’s no big deal. When I was dating, I would kiss a girl and she would show me what she had for lunch.
  • “Texas Chainsaw 3D” is opening just after Christmas. Shame it isn’t opening in December. The theme song could have been “Deck the Halls with Bowels from Holly.”
  • It’s being reported that Usher and Shakira will replace Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera on “The Voice.” To keep with the shorter name theme, Adam Levine will now be just Adam and Blake Shelton will be BS.
  • ABC canceled “Last Resort.” The network would have waited until later in the year but the executives were afraid they wouldn’t have been able to get their deposit back.
  • Neve Campbell plays a woman who grew up Amish and returns to her small town as Chief of Police trying to solve a string of horrible murders. “An Amish Murder” airs on Lifetime in January. It’s a tough job as every suspect is a bearded man wearing dark clothes and a hat. The film ends with a dramatic horse and buggy chase scene. If it becomes a series, the show will be called “CSI: Lancaster.”
  • Things I never want to see: Senior citizen home production of “Hair.”
