It’s been just over a year since “E! News” co-host Giuliana Rancic had a mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer. During a lunch thrown by the E! Entertainment Network, Rancic says she’s feeling great. The most surprising thing to her about her battle was how quickly she decided to go back to work.
“I was back on the air in two weeks,” Rancic says. “Now when I think about it, I realize that it was really fast.”
Her quick return could be the competitive streak she has. The day after her surgery, doctors wanted her to get out of bed and walk once around the hospital floor. After her first trip, Rancic asked the nurse what the record was for the number of trips around the floor after surgery. It was three and so Rancic made four trips.
This competitive edge fits with husband, Bill, especially when dealing with their new child.
“He’s the greatest dad in the world. And he can change a diaper a lot faster than I can. Every time he changes the baby’s diaper,” he wants me to time him,” Rancic says.
Baby talk isn’t limited to Rancic during the E! luncheon. Rochelle Wiseman of the British all-female group The Saturdays is five months pregnant. She tells me that she has no idea whether she’s having a boy or girl. She doesn’t want to know.
