Five Things You Should Do This Weekend
Other than seeing how many chicken wings you can cram in your mouth in 10 minutes.
1. GO POP WITH THE GRIZZLIES
The Fresno Grizzlies have a pop culture-heavy weekend planned. Tonight is “Super Hero” night, where the team will be wearing “Dark Knight Rises” theme jerseys — as seen on ESPN.com, FYI. If you dress like super heroes, you get in free. Saturday, the Grizz host Disney actress/singer Zendaya Coleman from “Shake It Up.” She’ll be singing the National Anthem and signing autographs. 2. BEWARE OF DRAGONS
The circus is in town. You have eight chances to see Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s latest offering: “Dragons.” It’s here today through Sunday, with two shows today and three on both Saturday and Sunday. Read my story from today’s Bee for more about what to expect from the “Dragons” show. [Tickets]
3. SEE A TRIBUTE BAND ON SATURDAY
Seriously, Saturday is tribute band night in town. Moonwalker, a Michael Jackson tribute show, is at Rotary Amphitheatre at Woodward Park. ApCal Winery has upstart local Stevie Nicks tribute band Stealing Nicks and Starline hosts Clash of the Titans — a tribute to metal’s “Big 4.”
4. HAVE A HAMBURGER AND A LAUGH
“America’s Funnyman” Neil Hamburger visits Audie’s Olympic tonight, doing a show that’s both comedy and country. Hamburger is not traditional stand-up comedy, rather a character that you’ve seen alongside Tom Green and Tim & Eric. He’s joined by our own musical funnyman Brian Kenney Fresno and stellar L.A. alt-country dude Dave Gleason. [More]
5. DON’T BE A FOOL
These past few months, we’ve had a number of locally-made films having their premieres. The next — and I think the final of this recent burst of films — is this weekend when “Gold Fools” premieres. There are showings tonight and Saturday at Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall in Clovis. Rick Bentley has a story in today’s Bee with more info. [Tickets]

Go see Neil Hamburger Fresno people! Trust me on this
Rather disappointed to see only three costume super hero’s last night at the game. Two people I spoke to were worried that they showed up on the wrong night.
